The Sacred Labyrinth Healing Camp
is organised by
Kiera Jones & Jim Fox
In the summer of 2009, Kiera returned from a drum-camp at Woodhouse Wood and suggested to Jim that it would be a great venue for one of his Sound Therapy Workshops. After a bit of discussion it was decided that, rather than concentrate on one type of complementary therapy, they should look into organising a much wider ranging Healing Camp, with the purpose of creating a space where people could come together to learn and to share, and also to experience various types of healing energy.
The next step was to visit the site and put the suggestion to Alan, who oversees the running of the Woodhouse Wood project. With a positive response and some encouraging words, a date was decided on and the wheels were set in motion. Following some more discussion, the name Sacred Labyrinth was chosen for the healing camp and Alex agreed to set up the labyrinth which will be the focal point of the weekend.
Due to the personal and professional journey that Kiera and Jim have been following in earnest since the Healing Camp in 2010, this year's camp will be more an informal event, with relaxation and therapies, and spontaneous sessions, rather than an organised programme of events. If you have a skill you would like to share, come bring it to the camp. Kiera and Jim also aim to put on a full Healing Camp in 2012. Kiera Jones is a qualified nurse with a number of years’ experience of working in the community. She is also a Reiki practitioner as well as providing treatment with Indian Head Massage, Reflexology and Thermo Auricular Therapy. She is also soon to qualify as a Sound Therapist. Jim Fox, has been involved with spiritual healing for many years. He is a professional musician and a qualified Sound Therapist and has a wealth of experience in event organising.
